  • 12 ounces short cut pasta of choice (shells, bowtie, penne, rigatoni)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 (13 ounce) package smoked turkey sausage ring, sliced
  • 1 packet Cheddar Ale Cheese Ball Mix
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cubed
  • 1 cup 2% milk, warmed
  • 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

cooking methods

  • Stovetop

  1. In large saucepan, prepare pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving ½ cup pasta water, and place back in pan.
  2. Meanwhile, in large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add sausage; sauté until nicely browned. Set aside.
  3. In microwave-safe bowl, microwave cream cheese on HIGH 30-45 seconds or until smooth when whisked. Whisk in Cheddar Ale Cheese Ball Mix and Garlic Garlic Seasoning, then milk and cheese. Continue microwaving and whisking in 30-second intervals until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth, about 60-90 seconds.
  4. Pour cheese sauce over pasta. Toss to coat. Stir in sausage. Simmer on low until heated through, thinning to desired thickness with reserved pasta water.
  5. Makes 6 servings.

    Serve with a green salad.

Make Ahead & Freeze: Prepare step 1; rinse with cold water and toss with 1 tablespoon oil. Place in a gallon freezer bag. Place sliced sausage in a quart freezer bag. Place Garlic Garlic Seasoning in a quart freezer bag. Place all bags and unopened Cheddar Ale Cheese Ball Mix in a gallon freezer bag. Seal well, label and freeze. Thaw completely. Continue with step 2, adding time to step 4 to allow pasta to reheat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cheddar Ale Mac & Cheese for the Win!!! Mac & Cheese is always a popular meal in our house but I love finding ways to mix it up, and make it a little less boring than just plain mac & cheese. This recipe was so good! We used smoked kilbasa rather than the turkey sausage it calls for. Highly recommend this easy and delicious meal!
