French Dip Beef Paninis Recipe

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups Creating Magic Slow Cooked Beef
  • 6 Bolillo rolls or 1 (16 ounce) loaf French bread (not baguette), cut into 6 sections
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • Olive oil cooking spray
  • 1½ cups Creating Magic Slow Cooked Beef cooking juices, warmed

This recipe requires Create Magic Slow Cooked Beef recipe.

  1. In large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add onions and Rustic Herb Seasoning. Sauté until browned, about 5-6 minutes. Add beef; sauté 3-4 minutes or until heated through.
  2. Remove from heat; stir in Vidalia Onion Dressing. Preheat panini press. Cut each section of bread in half horizontally. Top with beef mixture, cheese slices and top half of bread.
  3. Spray both sides of sandwiches with cooking spray. Place sandwiches in press, in batches, if needed, and press sandwiches until cheese is melted and desired doneness.
  4. Place warmed cooking juices in 6 small bowls. Serve with sandwiches for dipping.
Makes 6 servings.

Wine Pairing: Red blend

Make Ahead & Freeze: Combine Creating Magic Slow Cooked Beef, Rustic Herb Seasoning and Vidalia Onion Dressing in a gallon freezer bag. Seal well, label and freeze. Thaw completely. Continue with step 1 omitting Rustic Herb Seasoning.
Note: A skillet with a heavy weight such as a second skillet can be used in place of a panini press.
